Gutters do one job: carry roof water away from the house. When leaves, twigs and roof grit pile up, water spills over the edge instead, straight down the siding, into the window wells and against the foundation. We clear the gutters and downspouts so they flow again.
What gutter cleaning includes
- Leaves, needles, twigs and roof grit cleared out of the gutters
- Downspouts cleared so water runs all the way through
- The mess cleaned up rather than left on your lawn
When to do it
Late fall, after the leaves are down and before the first hard freeze, is the most important one. A gutter full of wet leaves in winter holds water that freezes, and that is when overflow and ice build up along the eaves.
Spring is the second: winter storms and spring winds drop needles, seeds and cottonwood fluff, and a clear gutter before the spring rain saves the window wells below from filling up.
Gutters and window wells are connected
An overflowing gutter above a basement window pours water straight into the window well. If you have had water sitting in a well, check the gutter above it first. We can do both on the same visit: see window well cleaning.

Gutters FAQs
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Once a year in late fall at minimum. Twice a year, fall and spring, if you have trees over the roof.
Do you clean the downspouts too?
Yes. A clear gutter with a blocked downspout still overflows, so we make sure the water can get all the way through.
Can you do the gutters and windows on the same day?
Yes, and it is the sensible order: gutters first, so nothing falls on clean glass.
Do you repair gutters?
No. We clean them, and we will tell you if we see a loose section, a leaking seam or a downspout pulling away.
